Ma Guo Yu, a female local artist, was born
in Ansai county, Shanxi province in
China, which is
a world-famous hometown of Chinese local
art. She is one of the third-class artists
and has been
selected in a book named The Selection of
Chinese local Artist. She loves local
paper-cut and painting very much, because
she was influenced both by her family and
some local artists. Now she has formed her
own character of modern paper-cut. She has
been a well-known artist in the field of
Chinese paper-cut with great success, she
has made many great works of paper-cut, such
as Happiness in Dog Year, Collecting
Treasures and Twelve Animal Representatives
of Birth, Not only this, she has also made
many great works of painting. For example,
Two Stonebreakers, Love for Hometown and
Busy Spring. She received the silver award
at the Second National Cultural Exhibition
of China. She was greatly praised for her
works by the experts of Chinese local art.
Some of her works have been
kept in the central Painting college. Because of her
great success on art, she has been high-appreciated
as an expert of Chinese paper-cut by the Chinese
local Art committee.
